After meeting your driver and small group, you will travel along the coast, passing the quaint town of Falmouth on your way to Braco Stables, approximately 45 minutes away.
Braco Great House was built in the mid 18th century and served as a successful sugar plantation and refinery. The original building still stands and currently houses a pimento leaf oil factory. Oil is extracted from the leaves, through a condensation process. This oil is exported and used in the preservation of meat and also as a base for many perfumes.
Trail Masters will pair you with a horse to match your riding ability, and then you are off, weaving your way through the countryside, passing through the Braco estate as well as seeing smaller estates along the way. The trail ride meanders down to the north coast shoreline and takes you to a private and beautiful beach area. Here guests are given the opportunity to swim bareback and frolic with the horse in the magnificent Caribbean Sea. The sea is crystal clear and white sands allow for great swimming and picture taking opportunities. Total time with the horses is approximately two hours, with 30 minutes of it at the beach.
The ride concludes by the gardens brimming with pimento trees, bougainvillea and fishtail palms. Lounge with a cool drink from the gazebo and spy on the hummingbirds gossiping with the orchids. Come sample our hospitality and the beauty of Trelawny, Jamaica!
From here, you will drive to the river where your water adventure begins with a short walk through the rain forest to meet your raft at the starting point.
After some instructions from your guide, you and the rest of your co-captains board your raft and enter the fast flowing water. With your tour guide steering the raft from the rear, you use teamwork to paddle through the twists and turns of rushing white-water rapids. The river rapids are rated class 1 and class 2 (easy to moderate) and the river flow is rated class 3 (swift moving water). Recent weather conditions can effect the river flow and level. Average time on the river is 90 minutes.
As you enter the deeper sections of the river, you can jump into the refreshing water for a chance to swim and admire the natural beauty of your surroundings. The river currents carry your raft over one final cascade as you pass under an old colonial stone bridge and head towards the Caribbean Sea where your raft ride will end.
After reaching the Caribbean, your guide will lead you to the private beach where you will have approximately 30 minutes free time to swim, sun or purchase a refreshment from the beach bar.
Returning to the Montego Bay area, you will have a driving orientation along the "hip strip" of Montego Bay which is the most popular area with visitors.
Please note: Tour pickup times begin approximately one hour PRIOR to the tour departure time listed. Full details will be outlined in your electronic ticket.
